Gerry Joe Weise's very popular "Who's Calling ? Crocodile River", has basically a trio - guitar, bass, drums - playing straight through in the studio. The only overdubs are the vocals, handclaps and tambourine. No extra guitars were recorded, making this a classic Blues recording. Gerry Joe played his vintage Stratocaster guitar through two Fender amplifiers, a brown Vibroverb 63 and a tweed Blues Deluxe, pure tone is used on this original. Gerry Joe is singing about someone who is missing near a river where a crocodile is smiling. A Texan shuffle meets the Australian Outback in the Northern Territory.
